We are looking to appoint a salaried GP in our lovely Purfleet Care Centre in Thurrock. Purfleet Care Centre is situated around 30 mins from Southend and with great train links to London Lakeside being only 10 mins away!
We are a friendly and well supported - dynamic, forward-thinking practice that delivers excellent health care to our patients. You will be joining a large team where you will be working alongside a multi-disciplinary team, consisting of a dedicated admin support team, specialised nurse’s as well as highly skilled healthcare assistants. Providing care to patients and their families to a high standard, sharing best practice and always looking to actively improve the way we work and deliver health care.
As a General Practitioner, you will need to be approachable who is a source of knowledge for your colleagues. As well as making conscientious decisions in relation to challenges presented to you or from other health care colleagues – over 6 to 10 sessions per week.
About Purfleet:
Purfleet Care Centre is run by HCRG Care Group on behalf of Southwest Essex Community Services. We provide patients with access to high quality healthcare in Purfleet. We are open to new patients wishing to register with us.
We are committed to providing our patients with a full general practice service and access to a range of health professionals. We offer a range of health services and information as well as advice and treatment for a range of illnesses and minor injuries.
The Centre is in addition to and complements other GP surgeries in the area and does not replace their services.
Main Responsibilities
We have a well-trained, collaborative, supportive and dedicated team consisting of other GP colleagues, specialist Nurse’s, HCA’s and management & admin teams all working to the same goals and aspirations that HCRG Care Group wish impart on our colleagues and patients.
As “General Practitioner” you will provide:
- General GP cover
- Home visits
- Delivering a high-quality service as well as drive service improvement and innovation with support from wider HCRG Care Group colleagues.
GP Responsibilities:
- Always maintain the highest clinical standards and practices in accordance with accepted good medical practice and service standards.
- Promotes the health and well-being of all medical and clinical staff within the practice by promoting efficient working methods and behaviours.
- Keeps up to date with advances in medicine and practices in line with national and local guidance and support other medical and clinical staff to do the same.
- Promotes the application of standards, protocols and codes of practice as set by Royal College of General Practitioners, General Medical Council, all other Royal Colleges and Councils applicable to the staff within the practice, Department of Health, Commissioning Bodies, and all other regulatory and standard setting organizations
- Provide clinical advice and guidance to all practitioners caring for patients of Walk-in Health Centre.
- Demonstrates innovation in the development of practice strategy and policy.
- Ensure adequate and appropriate supervision and mentoring for salaried GPs working in the service.
- Ensure effective lines of communication with practice staff and patients, local stakeholders, regulators, and commissioners.
- Ensure that all registrations and revalidations appropriate to the personnel used by the practice are up to date and appropriate for the services provided.
- Contribute to the personal and professional development review process for clinical staff enabling them to meet the medical, clinical, and business needs of the practice, aspirations of the individual and requirements for registration and revalidation.
- Ensure that patient notes are fit for purpose, generated, and filed in accordance with appropriate protocols and legislation.
The Ideal Candidate
You will be a GMC registered with a license to practice and have a strong clinical background working in Primary Care.
On the performers list and have full GMC registration and MRCGP, with the ability to demonstrate an understanding of how working in Primary Care setting differs from hospital and can diagnose and assess the healthcare needs of patients.
Confident using IT systems and be able to demonstrate working knowledge of Microsoft Office packages i.e., Outlook, Word, Excel.
Essential experience:
- Full GMC Registration, MBChB or equivalent
- UK permit or right to work in the UK
- MRCGP
- Commitment to professional development
- Knowledge of the NHS

- Understanding of Clinical Governance and quality issues and health and social policy
- Ability to make good clear concise medical notes, both computerized and manual
