In this vital role, as a Respiratory Specialist Nurse, will work as an independent practitioner delivering high quality Respiratory Nursing care to a specific caseload of patients, improving their quality of life, promoting excellence of health and independence within the community, preventing inappropriate hospital admissions, and facilitating early discharge, as well as provide education and health promotion.
You will be the Clinical Lead for the service and support the achievement of clinical and non-clinical performance along with the Clinical Serivce Manager.
Your base will be Livingstone Hospital, Dartford, with the requirement to travel across Dartford, Gravesend and Swanley. As this role is community based, a UK driving license and access to a car for work purposes is a requirement.
Main Responsibilities
As a Community Respiratory Nurse at HCRG Care Group, you are responsible to provide specialist care for patients with chronic respiratory conditions like COPD and asthma. Key responsibilities include assessing and managing patients, delivering clinical interventions, educating on self-management, and monitoring progress to prevent hospital admissions. They work closely with multidisciplinary teams, support end-of-life care, and contribute to service improvements. Compassion, clinical expertise, and excellent communication are essential for this role.

The Ideal Candidate
As a Respiratory Nurse will:
- Be a Registered Nurse with a valid NMC Registration.
- Minimum of 2 years’ Respiratory nursing experience working at Band 6.
- Masters or equivalent post graduate qualification in Respiratory care (certificate)
- Evidence of CPD in Respiratory O2 Care and Management
- Recognised teaching certificate e.g. ENB 998
- Non-Medical Prescibing V300 or willing to work towards
- Knowledge of NICE, and excellent understanding of COPD, ILD, ACOS, and Bronchiectasis
- Ability to carry out oxygen Assessments
