Package Description

We are seeking an experienced and dedicated Information Governance Lead to join our Operose Health Ltd and drive the development, implementation, and monitoring of robust information governance policies and practices. In this pivotal role, you will ensure the organisation complies with all relevant data protection legislation, safeguarding the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of sensitive information.

Main Responsibilities

Key duties will include:

  • Lead and oversee the organisation’s Information Governance framework, ensuring compliance with GDPR, Data Protection Act, and other regulatory requirements.
  • Support the Data Protection Officer (DPO), by providing expert advice on data privacy and compliance matters to the organisation.
  • Develop and maintain policies and procedures related to information security, data management, and records retention.
  • Conduct regular audits, risk assessments, and compliance reviews, reporting findings to senior leadership.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff to promote awareness and best practices in information governance.
  • Respond to Subject Access Requests (SARs), data breaches, and other information governance-related incidents.

The Ideal Candidate

  • Proven experience in an Information Governance or Data Protection role, ideally in the healthcare sector.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of GDPR, the Data Protection Act, and other relevant legislation and standards.
  • Strong leadership and project management skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders at all levels.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, with a meticulous attention to detail.
  • Relevant qualifications, such as GDPR Practitioner, CIPP/E, or similar, are desirable but not essential.
